2008 Mercury Mountaineer- Overview
The well-appointed 2008 Mercury Mountaineer is a carry over of the 2007 model with minute changes. The mid sized SUV has room for up to seven passengers as well as abundant cargo capacity, it's quite versatile. The 2008 Mercury Mountaineer is a powerful and reliable SUV available for much less than the going industry price point. This year's Mountaineer SUV comes with two basic trim levels - Mountaineer Luxury and Mountaineer Premier, with options in each model. All Mercury Mountaineers are available with rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive that includes low-range gearing and standard ABS.
Two power-train versions are available for the latest Mercury Mountaineer like a 245-horsepower V6 mated to a five-speed automatic transmission and a 281-hp V8 with six-speed automatic. Stability control and four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes are standard. The Mercury Mountaineer provides a comfortable ride while retaining utility and some off-road capability.
It's also accommodated with leather-trimmed comfortable seats and innovative features, including optional PowerFold™ third-row seats, available 6.5-inch touch-screen Navigation system and the ultimate in convenience - available power-deployable running boards. A split folding 3rd-row seat for seven-passenger capacity is standard on Premier, optional on Base. A power-folding feature is included on Premier and optional on Base. The 2nd row has a 60/40 split bench with available reclining seat backs.
Enough cargo space and an accommodating interior are hallmarks of the Mountaineer. Front side airbags are standard on all models. Curtain side airbags with rollover deployment are also standard on all models; these cover the 1st and 2nd seat rows. Other available features include 2nd-row bucket seats, DVD entertainment, power-adjustable pedals, power-deployable running boards, rear obstacle detection, and a navigation system. Mercury Mountaineer's performance and accommodations mirror those of similarly equipped Explorers.
The latest Mercury Mountaineer is fully equipped with all of the latest in safety precautions. The car's Personal Safety System includes dual-stage driver and front-passenger airbags, a crash severity sensor, a driver's seat position sensor and front safety belt usage sensors, as well as front safety-belt pretensioned and front energy-management belt retractors. If that's not enough, a new Safety Canopy system consists of side curtain airbags and rollover protection sensors, as well, designed to keep you safe in any extreme.
The available body colors for the 2008 Mercury Mountaineer include White Suede Clearcoat, White Chocolate Tri-Coat, Vivid Red Clearcoat Metallic, Vapor Silver Clearcoat Metallic, Stone Green Clearcoat Metallic, Silver Birch Clearcoat Metallic, Ebony Clearcoat and Dark Cherry Clearcoat Metallic. There are two options like Charcoal Black and Camel for the interior colors.
