2008 Mercury Mountaineer Specification- Cargo Space
The 2008 Mercury Mountaineer comes with a roomy cargo space. The cargo volume for both the Base and Premium trim levels is different.
The volume of the interior cargo is 45.1 cu.ft for the Base models, while that for the Premium models is 18.6 cu.ft. But if the seats are folded down then the volume of the interior cargo is 85.8 cu.ft for the Base models and it becomes 43.9 cu.ft for the Premium models. The 60/40 split facility provided for the second-row seats open the Mountaineer up for both large and small cargo, thus making you tension free. That's not enough, the available fold-flat or PowerFold™ third-row seats offers up to 83.7 cubic feet of storage volume.
Moreover, as the cargo cover is retractable it becomes very easy to load heavy luggages. There is also a dome light in the cargo area that makes it convenient to use during the night. It also has a separate-opening hatch glass handy, although it is a bit heavy to open or close. The second and the third row seats fold nearly flat for ample cargo room. In the 3rd row, there is available power folding, which proves to be a real convenience. There is also an interior storage meager apart from a large console box.
